Enjoying the gifts of the day with two dogs
It was another beautiful day. I spent the morning watching the birds forage in the water and saw these two Little Blue Herons fighting.
Meanwhile, Dart took in the view from the shade.
We drove to the Lower Suwanee National Wildlife Refuge. There is a 9 mile nature drive we decided to check out. Shortly after getting on the nature drive, we spotted Fiddler Crabs on the road. It was terrible. We didn’t want to run over them but they were running around all over the place. Yikes!
We spotted this turtle on the side of the road. We think it’s a female because she was digging a hole so she may have been preparing to lay eggs.
We stopped to check out the bat house and found this sporty looking insect.
We were thrilled to find a couple of baby Barred Owls. They were adorable and kept squeaking at us but they hung around for us to get a good look at them.
We spent about 4 hours kayaking late in the afternoon. We found some mangroves were the pelicans and cormorants were roosting. Following is my flying pelican shot from the kayak.

Quite a variety of wildlife. Pictures are amazing. The owlets are so cute. Can I have one. 😊
