Alaska Day 2 – The Most Amazing Day

Katchemak Bay in Alaska. Common Murres flying.

Day 2 was one of the most amazing days of my life. Alaska is big and beautiful and awesome. The wildlife is fantastic.

Today we drove from Sterling to Homer and I saw my first moose of the trip. The views near Homer are beyond description.

We embarked upon a boat that held the 8 in our group and the captain and mate. It was a great size boat to enjoy the day and get close to the wildlife. There were large numbers of birds and otters. The mountains that surround Katchemak Bay are overwhelmingly beautiful.

I took around 3,100 pictures. I’ve never done that before.

We had lunch in Homer and almost everyone ordered Halibut. It was unlike any Halibut I have ever had. It was delicious. It was probably because it was so fresh!

We took pictures of the many lupines that are in bloom and stopped to take photographs of eagles and more moose.
